JUST A THOUGHT

Exert from

THE FOUR-FOLD WAY
by: ANGELES ARRIEN, PH.D.

My research has demonstrated that virtually all shamanic traditions draw on the power of four archetypes in order to live in harmony and balance with our environment and with our own inner nature: the Warrior, the Healer, the Visionary, and the Teacher. Because each archetype draws on the deepest mythic roots of humanity, we too can tap into their wisdom. When we learn to live these archetypes within ourselves, we will begin to heal ourselves and our fragmented world

The following four principles, each based on an archetype, comprise what I call

THE FOUR-FOLD WAY

THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR

1. SHOW UP, OR CHOOSE TO BE PRESENT. Being present allows us to access the human resources of power, presence, and communication.

.

THE WAY OF THE HEALER

2. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HAS HEART AND MEANING. Paying attention opens us to the human resources of love, gratitude, acknowledgment, and validation.

THE WAY OF THE VISIONARY

3. TELL THE TRUTH WITHOUT BLAME OR JUDGMENT. Nonjudgmental truthfulness maintains our authenticity, and develops our inner vision and intuition.

THE WAY OF THE TEACHER

4. BE OPEN TO OUTCOME, NOT ATTACHED TO OUTCOME. Openness and nonattachment help us recover the human resources of wisdom and objectivity. The first indication that we are attached to an outcome is that we have lost our sense of humor.

When we understand these universal experiences, we are better able to respect the diverse ways in which these shared themes are expressed by all people. Even though these four archetypes are emphasized in most shamanic traditions, it is most important to understand that they are universal and available to all humankind, regardless of context, culture, structure, and practice. In our society we express the way of the Warrior in our leadership ability. We express the way of the Healer through our attitudes toward maintaining our own health and the heath of our environment. We express the way of the Visionary through our personal creativity, and through our ability to bring our life dreams and visions into the world. We express the way of the Teacher through our constructive communication and informational skills.

Voice Dialogue

By Jack Leishman

Voice Dialogue Facilitator

www.energydancehealing.com

Voice Dialogue is a method and set of techniques that was developed by Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone to help us explore our inner selves or parts, and our relationships within ourselves. These parts are sometimes called selves, sub-personalities, inner energies, parts or voices. All of our inner parts or selves together make up what we usually call or recognize as our "self", who we are, or our “ego”. The parts are clear and discrete entities, each with its own needs, history and "ways of being" in the world.

Voice Dialogue is an experiential technique with the aim to discover the parts of your "self" with which you have become identified, to gain awareness of these parts and discern how they have been affecting you and your life; and then to ultimately separate and create some energetic distance from these parts so that you can start to take charge rather than have one, or a group of your selves or sub-personalities (what Drs. Stone refer to as the operating ego) serving as the decision maker.

The parts of us that we are most familiar with in our daily lives are known as our primary selves. These are the parts that are in "control" or in "charge" of what is happening in our life at any moment; or as some say, these are the ones that are driving the "car" of our life. Common primary selves include a doer, pleaser, controller nurturer, resister, parent (good or bad), etc.

Our disowned voices are the energies that we tend to push down, suppress, stuff, etc. They could include our inner children, laid back or lazy selves, angry selves, irresponsible selves, depressed selves, sexual or sensual selves, vulnerable selves, etc. Certain selves may be primary in some people, and disowned in others, or primary at some time in our life, and disowned at others. Using the car analogy, our disowned voices are often stuffed into the back seat, or even into the trunk, where they may rarely, if ever, see the light of day.

For most of us, most of the time, if we are not on a path of conscious growth, our lives are somewhat like a symphony orchestra, but without the conductor. Each, or several, of our primary and disowned voices are playing their own tune somewhat independent of the others. A few of our parts may be playing in one style, rhythm, or signature, while others are playing a completely different tune. This sets up internal noise, discord and conflict. The aware ego is analogous to the orchestra conductor. He or she can bring in the energy of any of the parts at any time to create balance, harmony and hopefully a piece that resonates with both our inner and outer lives.

Important: The purpose of Voice Dialogue is to bring clarity, spaciousness and understanding to some of the myriad parts that we all have developed within us. It is not to fix any of the voices, nor get them to talk or dialogue with each other. It really is about identifying, honoring and, as much as possible, understanding who we are, or as Hal and Sidra say, “learning to embrace ourselves.”

AND JUST ONE MORE THOUGHT

Vision:

We used to think what we see is what we get.

We are now realizing that what we get is what we see.

Live Love: Help Create A Better World Now

The Universal Vision

It is imperative in these times to remain focused on what we are creating: A Peaceful Paradise on this planet. As we direct our Life energies through our vigilant attention toward the master blueprint of the Divine Plan, the reality manifests and we become inspired to take action toward its fulfillment. We remain centered, calm, and poised, no matter what occurs in the world.

Awareness of what exists now in outer reality is a myopic view of the unfoldment of the seed of perfection that is sprouting. It is good to know where we are, but a crystal clear picture of where we are headed with dedicated attention gets us there. As we sit in the Presence of our True Selves in our still, quiet moments, we perceive the Universal Vision. We also perceive our individual parts to play, and feel the passion of our hearts sparking with Divine inspiration. The clarity from our inner guidance shines the light of truth to illuminate our journey.

The reality of our peaceful paradise is here now. It is here in peaceful moments, in the serenity of nature, and in heartfelt gatherings. By anchoring peace in our lives, and holding the vision, we are expanding this energy to encompass the entire planet. We have much to celebrate. However, we are not done with our work. Not until every soul has awakened to our Spirit of One, and we are all living in harmony with our personal and planetary nature is the shift complete. It WILL be complete, in the “twinkling of an eye,” when this vision is shared by the hearts and minds of a critical mass.

We thank our Creator for being made in His/Her likeness and image, and for realizing the full potential of our creative nature. Now we are co-creating consciously as we each tune in to our hearts and getting on the same wavelength. We are increasing the conscious direction of our energies—with dedicated focus and depth of feeling—for the good of the greater whole toward the Universal Vision. The energy momentum that we are building is creating more and more rapid beneficial shifts in our world. It is fast expanding in our outer physical reality.

In the spirit of love and gratitude we can know that all of our deepest hearts’ desires and our Peaceful Paradise is already here. Let’s hold that vision together in peace, love, and gratitude.
